Lisanne from Life Mediation describes herself as ”passionate, empathetic, tenacious, kind, I have integrity and I am out to make the biggest difference to other people possible.”
She believes her superhero power is integrity, she keeps her word to others and herself and she does not take no for an answer…not yet is her motto 🙂
What is your business elevator pitch?
I am an award-winning mediator who specialises in family mediation and workplace mediation. I love being a mediator and I also love training people in conflict resolution and negotiation skills as I see how much suffering conflict causes in people’s lives and I know it does not have to be this way!
I am known for my patience and constructive approach, providing a safe and respectful space for each person that I work with and their unique set of circumstances. My style is open, down to earth, accessible and transformational.
I work on developing my clients’ skills base in my mediation sessions and training so that they can take responsibility for resolving their own conflict themselves in the future and avoid ongoing issues. I train people in the fundamentals of conflict resolution in my Confident with Conflict program and I provide conflict resolution and negotiation training for businesses and universities.
What is your Why for being in business?
“There is a lot of unnecessary suffering when it comes to conflict resolution and my mission is to reduce that; why suffer when you can learn the skills to negotiate and resolve conflict in any situation so that all parties come out on top? I am passionate about empowering people to achieve results they never thought were possible”
My other why is to change the legal industry from a win-lose mentality to a win-win mentality. Especially in the family law world. As being right legally might not be that important as there is a lot more at stake, kids, mental health, relationships etc.
Share a unique business challenge you have experienced and how you overcame this?
I moved to Australia in 2008 and people told me that I had no WA education or experience and I could not get a job. Fast forward to 2021, I have a thriving business and I won the award for Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner of the Year at the ADR awards in 2020 and I have been a finalist for Australian Mediator of the year at the Australasian Law awards in 2019, 2020 and again this year.
What’s got you “edge of your seat” excited in your biz right now?
I just ran my confident with conflict program for the first time and the participants got some amazing results. I am now working on making the program better again and I am talking to my affiliates to see if we can work together. I just sold 500+ courses to lawyers in a collaboration with Law CPD as well so there is lots of appetite for my training which is super exciting and fits in totally with my why!
What is your favourite biz resource at the moment?
I am a member of Fusion and The Social Club for lots of business advice and I am always reading articles. There is not one resource I use specifically at the moment.
