What is your business elevator pitch?
I am a pregnancy, birth and postpartum doula, passionate about helping parents create a magical, empowered birth and postpartum experience – whatever that looks like. Making fully informed decisions is my highest priority, so I work closely with my beautiful clients to make sure they have all the information they need to make the decisions that are right for themselves and their family. Whether it’s a home water birth or a planned c-section, I’m right there with you every step of the way.

What is your Why for being in business?
I believe that birth and breastfeeding do not need to be feared or seen as “too hard” – they absolutely can be beautiful, magical experiences. I believe that there can never be enough support available to birthing and breastfeeding people, and it is my mission to help as many as possible to love their birthing and breastfeeding journeys.

Share a unique business challenge you have experienced and how you overcame this?
The night before my very first birth client was due to go into hospital to start a gentle induction process, my mum (who was supposed to look after my kids for me while my husband was at work), told me that she couldn’t watch my kids for me the next day as she couldn’t take the day off work. So I scrambled and managed to get two of my beautiful friends to look after my 3 year old and 4 month old during the day until my mum and husband finished work. My daughter refused a bottle the whole time I was away from her, but her caregivers managed to get some of my expressed breastmilk into her somehow and kept her happy for the 19 hours I was away from her for! If I didn’t have such an amazing support network around me, I wouldn’t be able to do this work that requires me to be able to leave at a moment’s notice and be away from my children, sometimes for many hours at a time.
What’s got you “edge of your seat” excited in your biz right now?
I’m supporting two of my close friends during their births this year, which I’m so excited about! I love attending any and all births, but it’s extra special when it’s someone close to my heart.

What is your favourite biz resource at the moment?
Podcasts are my favourite! There are so many available and are such a great resource for business tips for those who don’t yet have the budget for a business coach or a course. My favourite doula-specific podcasts are Doulas Going Digital, Birth Trauma Training for Birth Workers, The Badass Breastfeeding Podcast, The Midwives’ Cauldron, and Australian Birth Stories.
