After over 10 years in the digital marketing industry, one thing has become quite apparent; clients are unable (or more specifically don’t know how) to check the digital work that has been done for them. We firmly believe that, in order to develop a more transparent and trustworthy relationship, it’s imperative to educate clients about HOW and WHERE to look for results.
The Search Republic was founded on the core values of respect, loyalty, trust, and integrity, and we love nothing more than for our clients to feel confident in investing with us. We believe the best way to achieve this is by teaching them how to track the results for themselves.
So, where to start?
The Google Ads garden
Examining a Google Ads campaign’s past is a great first step. If a campaign is not routinely optimised, it will never perform to its full potential and generate ROI. If you think of Google Ads as a garden, then you’ll start to see that Optimising a Google Ads strategy is no different to weeding; neither Google Ads nor a beautiful garden will result from neglecting to take care of them.
The “set and forget” mentality has been used by some businesses in the past. The issue is not Google Ads; rather, it is the resource that is handling your Google Ads campaign without ever optimising it, which is unable to produce satisfactory results.
Our customers who believed in our Google Ads strategies and were patient with the process have enjoyed exceptional results. According to HubSpot’s research, companies generate $2 in revenue on average for every $1 they invest on Google Ads, backing up our philosophy that Google Ads, when properly maintained, can be a thing of beauty.
While we never make promises we’re not 100% sure we can keep (and Google is the ultimate judge of this, after all), what we can promise is that we will consistently update and optimise our strategy in line with current Google best practices and updates.
Checking out your Google Ads campaign
Use these three simple steps to confirm that your Google Ads campaign is frequently updated.
1) Go to www.ads.google.com and log into your Google Ads account.
2) Click the “change history” link under the “Settings” section of the “Overview” column.
3) Select “Change History” to view the dates and account optimisations that have been made.
We have seen our fair share of horror story accounts where the Ad account has seen little to no optimisation. To ensure a successful campaign, monthly campaign optimisations are necessary;
otherwise, you’re not going to be seeing the full benefit from your Google Ads investment and you’ll never get that gorgeous garden you deserve.
